About Me
Xanthie Marcelle is an innovative and inspired Creative Producer, Screenwriter, Freelance Filmmaker, and Screen Educator, based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. As a Creative Producer & Screenwriter, Xanthie focusses her attention (and her own concept development) on projects that explore mis- or under-represented communities, and the darker elements of human nature, in a way that makes content approachable to the intended audience. She is most familiar with creative development of horror, psychological thriller, and dark comedy genres, but also admires the power of documentary to educate and entertain more directly. Her work has provided key support to a range of productions, including: - Scripted features: SPIT (2025), THE REEF: STALKED (2022) - Live action serials: REBEL WITH A CAUSE (2023), DARBY & JOAN S01 (2022) - Animated series: LOL SURPRISE! HOUSE OF SURPRISES (2021-), GO BUSTER (2018-) - Documentary features: ALICK & ALBERT (2021), LOVE OPERA (2020) Xanthie also works as a freelance screen industry professional, providing a variety of in-person and remote services in development, production, post-production, and distribution stages. These include: - Notetaking for writers' rooms - Drafting A-Z budgets & finance plans - Script editing - Assistant directing - Internal communications management - Social media marketing - Key industry research, and - Project management Xanthie has a keen interest in effective and meaningful screen education, and has taught in tertiary, secondary, and extra-curricular educational models. She combines extensive industry knowledge and currency with formal qualifications to teach and develop educational initiatives.
